The Star was released on November 17, 2017 as a precursor to this upcoming Christmas. It’s a unique movie about the birth of Jesus from the animal’s perspective. Featuring the voices of well known people such a Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, and Tracy Morgan.

The main character, a farm donkey named Bo, dreams of being apart of the royal caravan with all of the honored, noble animals that escort the royal people. On his journey to fulfill this dream with Dave, a white dove, he finds himself protecting Mary and her unborn son from vile enemies.

The family movie itself is very funny seeing as the human characters had no idea what impact the animals had on making the birth of their baby happen without problem. It also had some nice messages about forgiveness, doing right in hard situations, and having hope.

The characters I personally loved the most was the camels who, didn’t really know what was going on with the birth of Jesus, but their quarrels with each other had the audience, and me, laughing at the comic relief they provided.

By staying true to the biblical story and everything coming together at the resolution of the movie, the movies ends satisfyingly, with no complaints from me.
